Solvoz selected as Semi-Finalist for the QBE AcceliCITY Humanitarian Challenge
We are grateful and excited to share that Solvoz has been selected as a semi-finalist for the QBE AcceliCITY Humanitarian Challenge. This year, we are one of the innovators selected out of hundreds of applications (alongside innovators from 14 countries) to participate in the QBE AcceliCITY Humanitarian Challenge. We look forward to the months ahead as we work alongside the other semi-finalists. We are deeply thankful for this opportunity and for the upcoming collaboration with the Australian Red Cross, Australian Red Cross Humanitech, Leading Cities, the Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC), and QBE Insurance. With climate-driven disasters are rising rapidly, and communities tools and approaches are required to adapt to this evolving landscape.
Over the next six months, we will be working closely with Australian Red Cross partners and communities facing bushfires, floods, cyclones and heatwaves. Together, we will co-design tools that turn weather data into actionable insights for at-risk communities, support people in communicating their recovery needs, and help match local helpers with urgent community requests in real time. Want to learn more about our involvement and way we are to support the request and challenge, reach out to Julia Pavlenko in our team!
New features added this month
This month, we introduced several improvements across the Solvoz technology stack, further strengthening the flexibility and scalability of portals we deploy. While not all features roll out simultaneously across every deployment, our shared Solvoz core continues to expand rapidly.
Highlights of this month’s release
- New design for Teams & Admin Panels: A cleaner, more intuitive interface that makes managing users, roles, and permissions faster and easier.
- Launch of our new Feature Overview page: Explore the full breadth of Solvoz capabilities, now live at: solvoz.tech/technology/features/. From now on, this overview will be updated monthly as new features are released.
This update is part of our ongoing commitment to build the most configurable, sector-ready procurement and marketplace infrastructure for humanitarian, health, public, and impact-driven ecosystems. Stay tuned next month’s updates are already in the pipeline and ready for deployment.
Strengthening our sustainability expertise
At Solvoz, we are proud to support aid, health and other impact-focused organisations in building more effective, transparent and sustainable procurement processes. Our international team combines diverse expertise with a strong culture of collaboration, helping partners design supply chains that deliver meaningful and responsible impact.
This month, we celebrate Teodora Barglazan, our Procurement Manager, for earning the ISCEA CSSCP (Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional) certification from ISCEA – International Supply Chain Education Alliance. This globally recognised accreditation further strengthens her ability to help organisations integrate environmentally and socially responsible practices into their procurement and logistics operations.
Teodora’s achievement complements the work of Yumiko ABE-SOULIER, Ph.D, on projects such as WORM and IOM’s Closing-the-loop. With this growing knowledge base and hands-on project experience, Solvoz is even better positioned to support organisations in embedding sustainability into their procurement processes and strengthening the resilience of their supply chains. Reach out to us if we can support you with our growing capacity and support!
WORM project: final assembly, insights and new resources
♻️ This week, we joined our partners and peers at the Final General Assembly and End Conference of the WORM – Waste management challenges in humanitarian operations – hosted at the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki. Consortium members came together to review progress, align on final deliverables and reflect on the collective achievements made throughout the project. We are deeply grateful to all partners for the inspiring collaboration and shared commitment.
During the closing conference, our CEO Claire Barnhoorn contributed to a panel discussion on the project’s outcomes and future implications for the humanitarian and development sectors, highlighting how procurement serves as a key gatekeeper for advancing more sustainable and resilient humanitarian responses.
We also celebrated the release of the project’s Final Brochure — a lasting resource designed to help organisations better understand and address waste management challenges in humanitarian contexts. The brochure brings together key figures, policy briefs and insights from awareness campaigns in Kenya and Vietnam, offering a comprehensive and accessible overview of the project’s findings.
