January 2025: Engaging in global humanitarian and development forums
In January 2025, our CEO Claire Barnhoorn was invited for the second year in a row to the World Economic Forum in Davos. She contributed to discussions on the future of humanitarian and aid procurement, localisation, and responsible supply chains, exchanging with leaders across sectors on resilience, transparency, and innovative sourcing.
Building a sustainable world requires aligning values with action – and procurement plays a central role in making this real.
February 2025: Joining Catalyst Now
In 2025, Solvoz became an official member of Catalyst Now, the global network of social innovators working toward the Sustainable Development Goals. Building on earlier collaboration, this membership strengthens our engagement in advancing fair, transparent, and sustainable supply chains and supporting resilient local economies.
We are grateful for the many inspiring exchanges throughout the year with individuals driving systemic change.
March 2025: Five years of Solvoz
In 2025, Solvoz marked five years of operations. This milestone reflects the continued development of our technology, modules, and features, and our work with partners across humanitarian aid, global health, and impact sectors.
Over these five years, our technology has supported organisations in strengthening procurement capacity, reducing indirect and direct procurement costs, accelerating procurement cycles, and increasing local and proximity sourcing – contributing to more resilient and equitable supply chains.
April 2025: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification
In 2025, Solvoz achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the internationally recognised standard for information security management. This confirms that Solvoz operates under a fully audited Information Security Management System, meeting global best-practice requirements to safeguard sensitive data across our platform and operations.
For our partners and users, this certification provides additional assurance that Solvoz is built on a security-first, risk-aware foundation, continuously maintained to address evolving cybersecurity threats. (Certification body: DQS)
May 2025: Closing the Loop assessment frameworks
As part of the Closing the Loop project funded by Innovation Norway and delivered in partnership with IOM, Solvoz developed two practical assessment frameworks supporting more sustainable humanitarian operations.
These include an NFI suppliers and manufacturers assessment framework and a local waste management services assessment framework, supported by four targeted ecosystem assessments. Both frameworks are designed to be adaptable across contexts and support informed, locally grounded, and environmentally responsible decision-making.
We thank all collaborators who contributed to this shared ambition to close the loop together.
June 2025: WORM project: advancing sustainable waste management
In 2025, Solvoz concluded its work within the WORM – Waste management challenges in humanitarian operations project, a two-year Horizon Europe initiative. Our contribution focused on procurement and systems insights, supported by the expertise of Yumiko ABE-SOULIER, Ph.D.
A key outcome is a sustainable procurement framework enabling organisations to integrate sustainability into procurement through separate assessment of suppliers and products. This work reinforces procurement as a strategic lever for environmental impact reduction, localisation, and resilience-building.
July 2025: Launch of Mawared MENA
In 2025, Solvoz launched Mawared Mena together with partners – a multilingual digital procurement platform designed to strengthen local and regional sourcing across the MENA region.
Available in Arabic and English, Mawared MENA enables organisations to conduct market assessments, RFQs, and supplier engagement within a compliant procurement environment, while offering free capacity-building support to SMEs and manufacturers across the region. Built on Solvoz technology, the platform supports more transparent, localised, and efficient procurement processes aligned with donor and operational requirements.
August 2025: Building full regional capacity
Following the launch of Mawared Mena, we expanded our regional team and operational capacity across the MENA region. With colleagues Ahmad Awad, Ahmed Salah and Rana Al Ramahi joining, we strengthened on-the-ground expertise, partner engagement, and day-to-day regional support.
Delivering services in Arabic alongside other supported languages enables more inclusive supplier engagement and reinforces our commitment to localisation, regional ownership, and market access.
September 2025: Launch of Solvoz.tech
In September, we launched our new website: Solvoz.tech, marking an important step in our evolution and a clearer articulation of the technology underpinning our procurement solutions and marketplace platforms.
The new website showcases how Solvoz technology supports internal procurement workflows and external-facing marketplaces, enabling fair, transparent, and scalable market ecosystems across sectors.
A special thank you to Stevie-Jade Beeby for her editorial clarity and continued support in shaping how we communicate the Solvoz story.
October 2025: Philips Foundation investment agreement
In October 2025, Solvoz marked a major milestone at the Philips Foundation on Entrepreneurs Summit in Berlin, where our CEO Claire Barnhoorn, together with Bahaa Eddine Sarroukh and Beatriz Volckaert Almansa, signed the investment agreement formalising the Foundation’s support.
This partnership reflects a shared belief in the role of digital infrastructure in building fair, transparent, and resilient procurement ecosystems that strengthen health and impact-driven initiatives worldwide.
November 2025: Strengthening our sustainability expertise
In 2025, Teodora Barglazan, Procurement Manager at Solvoz , achieved ISCEA CSSCP certification in sustainable supply chain management. This further strengthens our capacity to support organisations in embedding responsible practices across procurement and logistics.
Our sustainability expertise is reinforced by the work of Yumiko ABE-SOULIER, Ph.D and Anuradha Dissanayaka, whose combined scientific, technical, and operational contributions support data-driven, climate-resilient, and sustainable supply chain initiatives.
December 2025: QBE AcceliCITY Humanitarian Challenge
Solvoz was honoured to be selected as a semi-finalist for the QBE AcceliCITY Humanitarian Challenge, joining innovators working on solutions for communities facing climate-related disasters. Delivered in partnership with QBE Insurance, Leading Cities, the Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC), and the Australian Red Cross, the programme brings together practitioners and communities around impact-driven solutions.
This challenge closely aligns with Solvoz’s focus on building digital market infrastructure that supports local capacity, transparent sourcing, and resilient supply chains. Our colleague Julia Pavlenko is the Solvoz project manager involved and is available for any follow-up questions.
